For some individuals, time during holiday vacations will be a chance to finally catch up on some action steps that will absolutely be critical to move forward in effectively pursuing personal, professional, or entrepreneurial goals.
I created my entire initial foundational business plan for my nonprofit organization, Project Inspire, many years ago during one holiday break while I was working full-time. Books are written, resumes are developed, events are created, dynamic ideas are envisioned, and more during these periods of time where much of America hits the pause button on their usual fast-paced work lives.
I'd like to share a concept with you that can help you achieve those goals that you're setting out to achieve during holiday breaks. This strategy can also be amazing to utilize during your daily life. And it's called the Rule of 3's.
You see, most of us don't accomplish our goals because we have too many priorities that we are simultaneously hoping to address. Sometimes, our goals and to-do lists overwhelm us so much that we do nothing. Sometimes we're doing the things that are of little importance on our list.
So this holiday season, if you're tackling your goals or to-do list, I'd like you to think: What are the top 3 things that I can accomplish today that would make me feel amazing? What are the top 3 things I would like to accomplish by the end of the weekend that would really make me feel like I've moved forward when it comes to [fill in the blank]?
I once listened to an interview with an international productivity and performance expert and this Rule of 3's is what he suggested for those who want to meet and exceed goals in any area of life.
Focusing on 1 - 3 priorities during my work day and focusing on 1 - 3 priorities for my business annually has been at the core of why I have been able to make so much progress in what I set my mind out to do.
My hopes are that if you can implement this Rule of 3's over the next few days and even in the coming weeks, months, and years, that you'll experience shifts in your life, career, and/or business as a result.
